Chasing Your Passion: A Fight for the Underdog

I have been thinking about starting this business for a long time.

Having spent most of my professional career helping global companies recruit, hire and develop employees, I’ve always been curious about how I could apply that knowledge to small businesses to help them prosper and grow.

Working with a 50,000 person firm versus one with 50 or 500 is dramatically different, though. Why am I choosing to focus on smaller firms?

My appreciation for entrepreneurs began as a kid when I was about ten years old. My grandparents owned an abstract company where oil men and women would come to research land rights. My grandparents worked hard, and they did well for themselves.

Through youth and adulthood, I have been in awe of my mother and dear friends who own successful businesses in all kinds of different areas. They provide for themselves and provide opportunities for hundreds of employees and their families.

I have always been drawn to small businesses — the underdogs of the business world. They are the ones who are scrappy, passionate, and innovative. They are the ones who are willing to work hard and take risks. And that’s why I am so excited to announce my new business, MyRecruter. It’s super hard for small businesses to find employees in this market. We’re going to make it easier for them.

MyRecruiter is an automated recruiting assistant that facilitates conversations between businesses and job seekers. By including a number to text on hiring advertisements, e.g., “Now Hiring! Text to 512–359–9719 to learn more” MyRecruiter has conversations with job seekers whenever it’s convenient for them. Job seekers can have their questions answered about available jobs, pay, and benefits, and they can apply in a few taps on their phones. It’s fast, convenient, and an entirely modern and satisfying experience.

Through automation, businesses can market their jobs to a vast audience that prefers texting. Prequalified candidates are ready for interviews when hiring managers receive notifications of applicants. Every interaction and activity with candidates is kept in each business’s own candidate management system that we provide.
